Petals Group & Flower Café

How Petals Group Pivoted in 3 Weeks

The Situation

An iconic events company in Cape Town, Petals Group had built a 60-year legacy on word of mouth alone. No marketing. No advertising. Just reputation. Then COVID-19 shut everything down.

With 25 staff members, a massive rental bill, and no events happening, they had weeks to either find a new revenue stream or start laying people off. They needed something fast. Something that worked.

WHAT WE DID

In one day, we developed the concept for Flower Café—a retail and experience space that would let them monetize their existing inventory, their expertise, and their brand. Three weeks later, it was open.

WHAT HAPPENED

20,000 customers through the doors. R1 million in earned PR coverage. A thriving retail business selling locally made products. Collaborations with local artists. A studio space hosting creative classes.

But more than that? They saved their team. They kept their people employed. They built something that’s become a genuine part of Cape Town’s creative community.

XOXO

What the Client Said

“Efficiency is at the core of this small owner-run marketing agency. Anago has a unique ability to simplify strategies for their clients, making them understandable and less daunting. Once they have a feel for your business, they have the talent to make your customers truly understand and feel the heartbeat of your company. ”
